This awe inspiring screen from Vincent
van Gogh’s painting ‘Flowering Plum Tree’ - adapted from the Japanese ukiyo-e master Hiroshige's ‘The Plum Garden in Kameido’ - has been used to illustrate how
deep and lasting values get created by exchanging and experimenting with ideas from different geographies and cultures.

Innovative SMEs (Small & Medium Enterprises) often pursue ideas that have the potential to  impact large populations, and attract investments and / or collaborations on a global scale. This has assumed special significance with the growing number of innovative startups and SMEs in developing countries and also because of the huge potential these emerging markets offer. SMEs in India today are important drivers of equitable growth as they contribute to an estimated 39% of manufacturing output and over   33% of total export. Thus globalisation of SMEs can no longer be perceived as a phenomenon
across developed countries and has to be more broad-based.

The fifth edition of International Knowledge Millennium Conference, “IKMC2011: Global Innovation Exchange” will focus on opportunities in India for innovative SMEs who aspire to have global impact.
It will provide a platform for learning, collaboration and partnerships, and identify strategies for
effective internationalisation of SMEs.
